Since its establishment 30 years ago, the Local Initiative Program (LIP) has provided cities and towns with an effective way to collaborate with private and non-profit developers to create thousands of affordable homes. This training provides an overview of LIP, including LIP 40B and Local Action Units (LAUs). The workshop also features case studies showing how these programs have been used to create locally supported affordable housing.
