Following the establishment of MBTA/3A zoning districts, municipalities are now advancing the approval of developments and moving forward with the creation of affordable housing units as Local Action Units (LAU) under the Local Initiative Program (LIP).
The LIP LAU program positions the municipality as a key partner alongside the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities (EOHLC), with both entities serving as Monitoring Agents.
Led by Elizabeth Rust of the Regional Housing Services Office & ECR Enterprises and Meghan Roche, Assistant Planning Director from the Town of Lexington, this online training is designed to provide municipal staff with high-level operational guidance to effectively fulfill their responsibilities in administering the LIP LAU program. The information covered will help support officials in the approval process and in managing deliverables associated with the LIP LAU program from initial submission through on-going monitoring.
